Fourth of July, sweet 🇺🇸

Here are some sweet treats you can make for your Fourth of July celebrations with only a few ingredients!

I had each of my three kids pick out a treat they wanted to try. The first and easiest is the fruit and marshmallow kabob. Anya choose this one and honestly I think she just wanted to eat the marshmallows, which she did…and lots of them at that 🙂

All you need is

-marshmallows

-kabab skewers

-strawberries

-blackberries

I started with blackberries for the bottom part and worked my way up (to make the kabob red, white, and blue). Blackberries I have found are larger and easier to work with, but you can certainly use blueberries. I then added a marshmallow, the jumbo marshmallows happened to be on sale and actually the only ones on the shelf except those teenie tiny ones that are super hard to use. Anya was thrilled so WTH we went with the jumbos! I topped it with a strawberry after cutting the top of the strawberry off. And walla! a tasty treat to enjoy after all those hamburgers, hotdogs, and bbq meat.

The second, and my personal favorite, is a American flag fruit platter.

ALL you will need

-white chocolate covered pretzels

-strawberries

-blueberries

First off you start with cutting the strawberries, you could also use watermelon or cherries. Place your blueberries in a bowl and place it on the platter (or if you don’t have a small bowl you can use foil, just shape the size of a rectangle and pull up the sides of foil to hold the fruit in position) then cut up your strawberries (or red colored fruit). Next you’ll need chocolate covered pretzels, I just bought mine, but you can make them if you want.

Once you have everything lined up you have a super cute American Flag made out of some yummy fruits. It takes almost no time at all and everyone is guaranteed to love it, esp sweet Niky 🙂

The third is an American flag kabob platter. Natalia chose this one, she is our biggest fruit eater and loves bananas.

All you will need

-bananas

-strawberries

-blueberries

-kabob skewers

For the first few kabobs, I add blueberries to the top of the skewer to look like the blue part of our American flag. I alternated the white and red fruits, we used strawberries and bananas but any red and white fruit can be substituted, to simulate the stripes on the flag. This are definitely not perfect but kinda looks like the flag 😉
